Camp Stearns is located near Fairhaven, Minnesota.
Originally called “Heritage”, it was opened in 1968. One of the main
activities at the Camp is the annual Webelos Summer Canp experience for 4th and 5th
grade Webelos Scouts. There are separate programs for the 4th and 5th
grades and they are named "Heritage" and
"Whitewater" respectively. Materials for each program, and
necessary forms can be found on this page and should be thouroughly reviewed
to get the most out of Camp. |
PURPOSE OF WEBELOS CAMP
Webelos Resident Camp has been a successful part of
Viking Council’s Scouting program for many years. The program provides
opportunities for Webelos Scouts for future years in Scouting by
facilitating den development and stimulating individual growth. The design
of the Webelos Camp program provides experiences in all facets of Webelos
outdoor activities including camping, nature, aquatics, shooting sports,
advancement and den development programming. The aim of the program is to
provide a quality outdoor experience built through careful consideration of
each Webelos Scout’s physical, mental/emotional capabilities, health,
safety, respect for each other and respect for the environment. It is the
intent of Viking Council and the Webelos Camp staff to give each Webelos
Scout, each den, and each adult leader a long remembered quality outdoor
experience.

The
ScoutingBSA.org web site is a
legacy site of the Viking Council BSA, now Northern Star Council.
This site was the original council site and was active from 1996 to
2002 and run by volunteers. As the web became more important to
Scouting, the council took over with paid staff. This site is no
longer maintained but is an interesting snapshot of an early Scouting
web site. You can share your comments using our
on-line form or
send a message to the
Webmaster. Thank you
for visiting! |
