All new leaders need to complete the "Fast-Start" training as soon as they begin their new role as an Adult Leader.  This training is available on-line and is easy to use.   You can go through the information at your own pace, since it is on-line, and you can do it when it fits into your schedule.  You only need to complete the section related to your position with the pack (i.e., den leader, cubmaster, pack committee, etc…) but it would be beneficial to look at all of the positions to see just where everyone else fits in.   It only takes approximately 15-20 minutes.   There is also a video available from the Viking Council for use in a group setting.

This application requires Internet Explorer 5, 5.5 or 6;  or Opera 5 or 6 to operate correctly.  Netscape (any version) does not support this training unit properly on most machines, sorry.  If you have pop-up windows disabled, you must allow them to see the presentation.


The ScoutingBSA.org web site is a legacy site of the Viking Council BSA, now Northern Star Council.  
This site was the original council site and was active from 1996 to 2002 and run by volunteers.  As the web became more important to Scouting, the council took over with paid staff.  This site is no longer maintained but is an interesting snapshot of an early Scouting web site.    You can share your comments
