Fast Start Training Fast Start Training provides immediate comfort level for new leaders. Its the first step for any new Volunteer. Ask your unit leader, Unit Commissioner or District Executive for the Fast Start video specific to your level and position of Scouting What makes a Trained Leader? Cub Scout Leaders are considered trained upon completion of New Leader Essentials and the Cub Scout Leader Specific Training for their position. Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are considered trained upon completion of New Leader Essentials, Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Troop committee members are considered trained upon completion of New Leader Essentials and the Troop Committee Challenge Venture crew Advisors and crew committee members are considered trained upon completion of New Leader Essentials and Venturing Leader Specific Training Time Needed

Roundtable Youth ProtectionThis training is an important component of the Boy Scouts of America's strategy to protect its members from child abuse. Child abuse is a serious problem in American society. There are over 3 million reported cases of child abuse each year, including a half a million cases of child sexual abuse. As the nation's largest youth-serving organization, the Boy Scouts of America has a unique opportunity to make an impact on this societal problem. The objectives of this training are:
Other Training Opportunities: Wood Badge for the 21st CenturyWood Badge is advanced training for Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leaders. The training is offered once a year and is sponsored at the Council level. The 2003 C-37-03 sessions are August 22-24 and September 26-28. Pine Tree Youth Leadership ConferenceThe Junior Leader Training Conference is a seven-day outdoor experience for boy leaders in support of the Scoutmaster's responsibility for the training of troop junior leaders.
