        DISCLAIMER:
This Unit Operating Document  is presented strictly as an example
of work by a Scouting  Unit.
The Viking Council BSA does not,  in any way,  reject or
endorse the specifics that are contained therein.   Units are
encouraged to positively address their own particular needs based on the
12 Points of the Scout Law
 | In a perfect world, the Scout Oath and
Law would be all that we need to give to each parent and scout.  In
practice, we need more than that to really set the expectations and
operation in truly "black and white" terms for all to
understand.  Here are examples of some of the tools that our units
have authored to help with the operation of the troops.  Samples are
provided in several formats.  The *.DOC files are Microsoft Word
format and may be edited for your own use.

        The
        ScoutingBSA.org web site is a
legacy site of the Viking Council BSA, now Northern Star Council.
This site was the original council site and was active from 1996 to
2002 and run by volunteers.  As the web became more important to
Scouting, the council took over with paid staff.  This site is no
longer maintained but is an interesting snapshot of an early Scouting
web site.    You can share your comments
