What Does It Cost?

Cub Scout Program Cost

  • Yearly National membership fee: $7.00

  • Boy’s Life “Magazine for Boys”: $9.00 (optional)

  • Uniform Cost: Price depends upon program, grade level and Pack requirements
Many Cub Scout Packs form a budget for the year and will participate in a popcorn sale, wreath sale or some other Pack fundraiser to cover the cost of the Cub Scouting program.  Weekly dues of $.50 to $1.00, in an ideal Pack, are collected at each Den meeting to help cover supplies and awards.  The majority of Packs will assess this up-front at joining.  The Pack’s Cubmaster can clarify their program costs.

The ScoutingBSA.org web site is a legacy site of the Viking Council BSA, now Northern Star Council.
This site was the original council site and was active from 1996 to 2002 and run by volunteers.  As the web became more important to Scouting, the council took over with paid staff.  This site is no longer maintained but is an interesting snapshot of an early Scouting web site.    You can share your comments
