More about Venturing

Venturing Time Commitment

  • Being a program for young adults, the majority of time involved for parents deals with transportation.

  • Adult volunteer positions area available for parents so that they can continue the development of their child and other children.  Adults involved provide mentoring to the elected youth leadership of the crew.

  • The crew will have either weekly or bi-weekly meetings  This is determined by the annual planning conference conducted by the crew.  Meetings will last around two hours unless an activity is included on a special day or time.

  • Some crews such as ski crews meet on Sunday for daylong ski trips.  They function primarily during December through March.

The ScoutingBSA.org web site is a legacy site of the Viking Council BSA, now Northern Star Council.
This site was the original council site and was active from 1996 to 2002 and run by volunteers.  As the web became more important to Scouting, the council took over with paid staff.  This site is no longer maintained but is an interesting snapshot of an early Scouting web site.    You can share your comments
